The record.
A catalogue rather than a trophy wall. One recognition is listed, because one is what can be verified against a reliable source. Everything else on this page is what the record actually contains: two published books, and an honest note about what has been left out.

President's Police Medal for Gallantry
Conferred by the President of India
Government of India · Ministry of Home AffairsIndia's highest police award for bravery, conferred for his part in the counter-terrorist operations during the November 2008 attacks on Mumbai, when he was Deputy Commissioner of Police for Zone 1 and among the first officers to reach the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.

Why the list is short
Omission is a decision too.
Profiles of senior Indian police officers routinely carry long lists of medals, commendations, state awards and citations. Many of those are real. Many of them cannot be checked against any source that a reader could reasonably verify, because commendation records are not published in a consultable form.
This website lists what could be verified. If further recognitions exist — and in a career of twenty-nine years they very likely do — they are absent here because a source was not available, not because they were judged unimportant. That is a deliberate choice in favour of a record that holds up.

It found a durable readership among students preparing for the UPSC and MPSC examinations. Published in English as Head Held High.

Second title · motivational writing
His second published book, in the same register as the first: written for readers preparing for competitive examinations rather than for a policing readership.

In public culture
A note, clearly labelled as reported rather than official.
The 2021 Hindi film Sooryavanshi has been widely reported in the Indian press as having drawn its central police character in part from him, on the basis of statements made publicly by the film's lead actor. This is recorded here as reported public commentary. It is not a recognition, not an official citation, and not something this website presents as a fact about the film's production.
It is included because it is part of why his name is publicly known, and leaving it out unexplained would be its own kind of omission.
